Open Call
Children on War (4:25)
Elizabeth Wood | New York, NY
From the filmmaker: In this film, I asked 24 children to talk about War. I hoped to discover a basic truth about our country's relationship with violence and aggression. We rarely listen to children; we assume that their lack of experience prevents them from providing insight into complicated issues. Yet we recognize that children absorb the world around them, filtering society into their own world view. I suspect that the most accurate mirror of our own beliefs is found in the thoughts of our children. In this short film, we hear the opinions of those who will ultimately be most affected by the consequences of current warfare.
This film was formerly titled The Birth of War
