Open Call: Pitch Reels
Back Home and Voting (1:36)
Anthony Tenczar - Concord, NH
The Pitch:
My proposal is simple in content but more complex and nuanced in its presentation. I want to present 3 to 4 socio-psychological and physical portraits of recently returned Iraq War combat veterans. Besides their deeply personal stories, sounds and visuals the overarching element of these video portraits will be their contemplation of the 2008 presidential election. These veterans will be chosen with the following traits in mind: diversity in voice, appearance, eloquence, experience (combat disability?), political philosophy, age, ethnicity and gender.
My most recent work has been experimental and longer form documentary, but I have wanted to do more short form psychological portraits for sometime now. As an example of my work in this area I have uploaded a short excerpt from my film Spoken Flesh about body adornment. The excerpt features a Vietnam veteran and his tattoos.
For "Back Home and Voting" I intend to shoot in widescreen 24p HDV and digitally record audio stories off camera.
I am a filmmaker and university professor living in Concord, NH.
