Open Call: Pitch Reels
Elect for Change (3:25)
Scott Compton - Chicago, IL
Click here to watch this pitch reel
The Pitch:
I want to interview American's of all walks of life and all socio- economic backgrounds on why they want to vote and what they are really voting for.
Is it simply the face of change or the recognition that a simple change of face can have such a tremendous impact, if for no reason other that in our simplest forms of communication it is the human face and our representations of it that elicit change of not only mind but of heart.
Or is it the voice of change with a face that represents that change on a number of levels for a multitude of people?
It is these potential changes that cause us to act and call us to vote.
The faces and voices of our election are more diverse than they have ever been and so are the faces and voices of our great and turbulent nation.
These interviews, the best of them will culminate in a montage of images and sound bytes that inspire people to act on not only their most basic emotional responses but draw a reaction from the political fugue that constitutes our people and of course our nation.
And the structure of the piece will be just that a political "fugue" of interview and reflection on where we have been, where we are going and how we wish to be. Music will of course match mood and tempo.
Interviewees will be framed in Wide, MS and CU. The inter-cutting of the three shot sizes will syncopate the rhythm of the edit as it builds to reduce all of these voices to their potential choices, our candidates.
