The Pitch:
A FILM BY AN AMERICAN ABOUT AMERICAN POLITICS WITHOUT AN AMERICAN POINT OF VIEW
With the presidential campaign underway, everyone seems to have an opinion on the state of America, our political process and the presidential candidates. Most Americans have their own point of view; but we’re not going explore what’s on their minds. Sometimes to get an honest assessment of a situation it’s best to look those who are on the outside to get an objective point of view. Many foreigners get the opportunity to visit or live in America. What are their thoughts as they observe our political process and the current presidential campaign? Let’s take a look at American politics through international eyes. They are not American citizens and they don’t have the right to vote but they do have the right to express their opinions because this is America and we believe in freedom speech.
No special effects on this documentary are needed. This is an opportunity to get a unique point of view on American politics that is rarely explored.

Interesting Idea
As an American I am interested in hearing the point of views of other people in the world as it relates to American politics.
Clever idea!
Clever idea.... Curious to hear their thoughts, opinions, and suggestions!
Important Perspectives to Hear
I agree with many others that these are important and valuable perspectives to explore, but I also agree with brianretchless that people's comments might be representative of their overall home country rather than their personal experience.
I also really like how the camera's focus is on the mouths, and not the faces, and wonder if a similar style decision could be used in the dialogue to touch on this.
In response to Brian Retchless
I believe that most people understand that these are individual points of view. There is no such thing as one person who can claim they represent the voice of everyone in any country. Not even political leaders can genuinely say their opinion is the opinion of each individual that lives in their country. From a journalistic point of view, the question can be posed. How would you respond to those who may be watching from your country who are concerned that your opinion may not represent their own? This gives each individual an opportunity to address those concerns and clarify that this is their opinion alone to the audience. But honestly, I believe the audience will be intelligent enough to decipher this on their own. The same way they do when they watch the news and Americans are giving their opinions. At no point do we believe that the person being interviewed is speaking for all of us. It’s just their opinion.
I want to see this one!
I am very interested in what other people in the world living or visiting our country have to say about this election.

Melting Pot?
This piece looks really interesting....I'm attracted to the camera focus on the mouth makes me look beyond the outward appearance of these diverse subjects and actually listen to their voices-their opinion....are we really a melting pot? I'd like to hear what it is they have to say....
Outstanding effort
Move young folks should have an understanding and an opinion about the American polictical process
I like the idea and
I like the idea and sentiment but I wonder if something in this vein might lead us to thinking that the opinions expressed would be indicative of the nation they come from.
As a filmmaker, how would you make sure that the subjects were seen as individuals and not abstract representations of their nations?
Refreshing idea
It would be great to get another perspective other than our own. I'm happy you decided to open the doors for discussion. I'm tired of the same topics being covered over and over again. I've yet to see anyone explore this angle. It's so simple, it's genuis. I hope you win!
Absolutely Neccessary
Americas' international footprint and globalization efforts REQUIRES all Americans to understand the concerns, fears, and perspectives of the world community. Without this understanding we will find ourselves in a VERY BAD place.
Great Idea
this is truly a fresh perspective on american politics, while this country is known as the great melting pot, all too often the only politics we hear are one-sided. I would love to hear more about what others have to say
Interesting
This looks interesting. I always wanted to get other cultures perspective on our political process.
Enlightening
This will give an insightful insight into how the rest of the world feels about and views America. Great idea!
interesting.
solid idea-like the simplicity. be interesting to know how the criticism differs from the participant's county of origin.
