The Pitch:
Volunteerism is a topic that all the candidates can agree is something vital to our country. I want to approach this video project with a sense of unity in the country - to find a topic that would bring us together and not divide us. Through video interviews with volunteers from all areas, and speeches from the 2008 presidential candidates, I will show how we all see the same on this issue.
Actions speak louder than words, so I will overlay images and video of people volunteering with interviews of these volunteers. Original music will be written to accompany the video to add to the emotional impact. However, the goal is not sentimentality but the reality of how service can make a difference. There will be statistics and quotes and speeches of the candidates but the common visual goal will be to show how these words and ACTIONS can change lives - without all the politics to get in the way.
