Open Call: Pitch Reels
Where are you Joe Hill? (4:43)

The Pitch:
Whoever is elected president in 2008 will be faced with one of the most challenging pieces of labor related legislation since the Wagner Act and the creation of the Labor Relations Board. The Free Choice Act, if signed into law, will drastically restructure how unions can be formed and how companies can negotiate with them. Democrats say that this will be the resurgence of the unions and the middle class and give the everyday worker the tools that they need to secure their piece of the American Dream. Republicans say that this will be the death of big business. One thing is certain, it will change the business landscape forever.
This piece of legislation that has been demonized, and lauded, but most people have never heard of it. I would like to produce a short film that would give both sides of the argument and inform the populace about this momentous piece of legislation, and let them decide for themselves where they stand.

Very cool idea--labor is definitely a topic that deserves more attention.
Check out the recent Wall Street Journal article on Obama's position favoring less anti-organized crime regulation of the Teamsters, which took place before they endorsed. It's a well written article that might feed you some ideas.
