In this animation, a single gene's sequence is illustrated as color-coded letters appear, in synchronization with the highlighted amino acids along the gene's spiral. When the gene attempts to reproduce, it drops two nucleotides from its sequence, and its structure is changed. Anatomical travelogue. 11/14/2001.
