The Sandbox is loaded with extraordinary clips from the Lab's partners and various WGBH productions, including American Experience, Frontline, and NOVA, offered free and cleared for non-commercial use to generate new content. Create a mash-up, music video, animation, documentary -- anything our clips can help inspire.

Open content is creative material made available, for free, to be edited, remixed, added to, or otherwise modified to create new creative material. With its selection of open content, the Sandbox shares video clips via Creative Commons.
 
TERMS & DEFINITIONS
Mash-Up - the combination of multiple sources of video—which usually have no relevance with each other—into a derivative work

B-Roll - supplemental or alternate footage intercut with the main shot in an interview or documentary.

Remix - an alternative version of a song or video, different from the original version.
